The 40-acre Zoo Atlanta houses nearly 1,000 animals representing over 250 species from all over the world, including three giant pandas on loan from China's Chengdu Zoo. The zoo is located within Grant Park, just west of the Atlanta Cyclorama and Civil War Museum. Founded in 1889, Zoo Atlanta is one of the oldest zoos in the country, as well as one of the most popular, welcoming around one million visitors every year.
