The Hammonds House, built in 1857, displays changing exhibits of African-American art, hosts meetings and boasts a gift shop full of unique collectibles, including original art and jewelry, prints and textiles. The museum’s exhibitions range from photographs dealing with the Black Panther Party to quilts containing political messages. It is located in the West End neighborhood just south of Interstate 20.
