Description:

The seat of Georgia’s state government, this monumental neoclassic structure with a signature golden dome was built between 1884 and 1889. Capitol visitors receive a 45-minute tour that chronicles the building’s history and the lawmaking process, and ends at the Georgia State Capitol Museum, which exhibits significant state artifacts, including a collection of historic battle flags. It is located in downtown Atlanta, near Underground Atlanta.

Hours of Operation:

Open Mon.- Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Guided tours available at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.
